As you would expect, they sell home healthcare items, durable medical goods, and uniforms for men and women. The store in Spanish Fort also carries a great collection of gifts, including jewelry, children’s Mud Pie, home decor, and Circle E Candles. Oakridge Home Medical and Gifts, the company’s store in Mobile, has a wider selection of gifts with a medical showroom and a cafe.

Cindy Newman, who owns the business with her husband Danny, explains the reason for the diversity. “Through our home healthcare and durable medical company we are uniquely aware of the work conditions and environments our customers experience every day, including the rigorous schedules, long hours, and being on call 24/7, so we like to make shopping easy, whether they need something for work, for their home, or for fun.”

Danny Newman has been in some form of healthcare since his teens, and Cindy’s background includes printing and publishing as well as working in the fashion industry, which means she takes a personal interest in the uniforms they offer. “We try to ask questions and try to know our customers’ tastes and lifestyle, while giving them important information about what’s out there in the uniform world,” she said. “We strive for the utmost in customer service with a fun, inviting atmosphere. We can special order anything our customers’ need, if we do not have it in the store.”

Along with uniforms, the store stocks accessories, from lapel pins and socks to slip-resistant and shock-absorbing footwear. “We’re all about feeling good while looking good on the job, and accessories add the stylish touches you need to ensure that your uniform will have you looking and feeling your best,” Cindy said. “We are here for our customers. We take time to know their needs, especially with the hectic lifestyle of the medical field.”

Clients include those in the healthcare industry but also those working in education and restaurants. “We work with doctors and hospitals and love to schedule appointments to work with office staff,” Cindy said. “We provide discounts for those working as a group.”

The stores have a wide selection of brand name uniforms, including Barco, Grey’s Anatomy, Carhart, Cherokee, Dickies, Landau, Med Couture, Peaches, Wink, and White Swan. “Uniforms don’t have to be dull. We try to keep our customers in mind and research their needs for the stock we keep in the store.”

Currently, the company is working on an online store that will allow customers to order online and either pick up in one of the stores or have their purchases shipped to their home or office.
